Return To Apley Grange

We returned to Apley Grange on Monday 22nd April. I've included some photos to whet your appetite but a new carpet and double glazing has been fitted, the central partition has been removed and the kitchen and toilets modernised. You do need to have known the old room to appreciate how big the difference is.

To mark the occasion we held a small rapidplay tournament of ten minutes per player on the clock. The winner was Mark Daley who finished half a point ahead of Mick Stokes after the latter was held up by a first round draw. That draw was against Richard Tate who won a prize as the lowest graded of five players to tie for first.

During the evening we drank champagne to mark our return to the Yorkshire League's first division.
