Stuart Johnson honoured by Yorkshire Chess Association

posted 17 Jun 2012, 15:14 by Andrew Zigmond
At the YCA AGM on Saturday 16th June Harrogate member Stuart Johnson stood down as competitions controller, a position he has held for fifteen years. Stuart has held many positions across Yorkshire over the years and in the Leeds Chess Association five people were deemed necessary to replace him following his retirement; a statement that says it all. The YCA chose to honour Stuart by awarded him the David Hardcastle Shield for services to Yorkshire Chess - putting him in the unprecedented position of having won it twice.
