Roger Edwards has announced his candidacy for the ECF presidency. In his manifesto he notes that he began playing chess at Harrogate while attending Harrogate Grammar School although it's not 100% clear whether he was ever a member of the club - the name Raymond Edwards is familiar. Perhaps one of our longer standing members can shed some light.

The link is here http://www.englishchess.org.uk/?page_id=897 the actual document is at the bottom of the first batch of red links.

In the interest of balance (and because it represents a tremendous coup for our YCA colleagues) I'll give a link to an interview the YCA recently held with CJ de Mooi, the popular if controversial incumbent President.

UPDATE 13/9/2012 - CJ de Mooi has resigned as ECF President making Roger Edwards the President elect (although the ECF allows None Of The Above as a perennial candidate). Harrogate league player Rupert Jones has also been nominated as FIDE delegate
